list.
If you are interested in one of the themes here, please contact
the respective co-ordinator and send them both your abstract and
presentation information. The abstract should also be sent to the

ways to help the children.

* Combining work and family
Co-ordinator: Minna Salmi, e-mail: minna.salmi@stakes.fi,
fax. +358 9 3967 2201
Combining work and family is a topic which brings together three
intersecting fields at both the level of everyday life and at policy
level. The three fields are working life & work policy, family life
& social policy, and gender & equality policy. The session aims
to look at these intersections and add to them the perspective of
children.
* Fatherhood
Co-ordinator: Arto Tiihonen, e-mail: artot@congcreator.com,
fax. +358 9 4542 1930
Fatherhood is changing rapidly. In our times we have witnessed the
rise of different kinds of masculinity and generational changes
in fatherhood. In this session we will discuss these social and
cultural factors influencing masculinity and about psychological
and life historical factors concerning fatherhood. Presenters will
speak about theory and research results, but they will also share
their own experiences and challenge the participants to talk about
'a good enough fatherhood'.
